Hello my name is Pauline Townsend and I am a professional artist living and working in the Peak District. I specialise in painting on silk using the traditional resist technique. I find that the vibrant colours of the silk dyes suit my favourite subject matter - flowers. Recently I have introduced several landscapes into my repertoire and I am keen to develop this area of work. I am an active member of the Guild of Silk Painters; Peak District Products(an association of professional artists and craftspeople) and High Peak Artists' & Craft Workers' Association (a co-operative exhibiting in the Pump Room, Buxton). You can see my work all year round on my website www.silkpainter.co.uk or at many Tourist Information Centres and National Trust properties throughout the Peak District. I also run workshops for individuals and groups.
